1926 Whippet Farrar? Pumper $3500

June 1, 2010

This 1926 Whippet formerly served the Contoocook NH fire department, prior to the time that the Contoocook and Hopkinton FD’s joined to from the present HFD. It has a 6 cylinder whippet engine and a 300 GPM Barton American front mount pump. Although there are no markings on the truck that I have found, a former chief from HFD believes it may indeed be an early Farrar because of their departments long association with that manufacturer. Unfortunately this truck was stored away and forgotten under a Grange Hall with a dirt basement. The truck sunk into the mud and all the wheels are presently seized up, although I am working on getting them unstuck. The condition of the engine is unknown although it is complete. This is a real cute little truck and the only reason I am considering selling it is to make more room in the barn. I don’t have to sell it, so will not “give it away”. Call or email for more info. Akron Brass Universal Deck Gun

April 26, 2010

This is a 3 inlet Akron street gun. Unfortunately one of the swivel inlets broke off at the casting. The inlets all have clapper valves, so the gun is still in usable condition. The chrome stream straightener, reducer, and 1.25″ nozzle are in very nice condition. The gun could use a fresh coat of paint, or use it as is. This is what is known as a street gun, but has provisions to be mounted on an engine also. Price is $300. Contact Paul Sanborn at 603-608-6252 or email: KPSanborn@comcast.net
